Practice Complete — It’s Race Day at All-Tech for the Showdown in the Sunshine State

LAKE CITY, FL — It’s officially go time at All-Tech Raceway.

Wednesday night marked the first on-track action of the 2026 Dirt Track Digest TV Showdown in the Sunshine State, as Modified and Sportsman competitors rolled out for multiple practice sessions to shake down their machines and dial in setups.

With practice wrapped up, attention now turns to Thursday night’s race program, highlighted by a pair of feature events. The Modifieds will headline the evening with a 40-lap main event paying $5,000 to win, while the Sportsman division will battle over 25 laps for a $2,000 winner’s share.

All eyes will be on Stewart Friesen when racing gets underway, as he returns to competition for the first time since his crash last August. Friesen enters the night as the winningest Modified driver at All-Tech Raceway, boasting seven career victories at the facility. Hot on his heels is Matt Sheppard, who owns five wins of his own. Former All-Tech winners Larry Wight and Erick Rudolph are also expected to be in action, and all were among the drivers turning laps during Wednesday’s practice session alongside a strong field of Modified competitors.

The Sportsman division also saw solid participation, with former All-Tech winners Richard Murtaugh III and Brian Calabrese opening their 2026 campaigns. Nick Zielinski was on track in his No. 11, while Cole Hentschel made his return to racing behind the wheel of the No. 3. Canadian standout Jessica Power logged laps in her No. 52, joined by Karl Comfort and more than 20 Sportsman drivers in total, all getting their first shakedown ahead of Thursday night’s green flag.

With practice in the rearview mirror, it’s time to settle things under the lights—race day has arrived in the Sunshine State.
